My grand fur baby needed an emergency procedure. I called Grady Animal Hospital and was able to get her seen early the next day. I’ve read the reviews and let me say from my initial phone call, until my pick-up everyone was amazing. We were greeted with a warm hello, and they took her in immediately. About an hour later they gave us a follow up call to inform us the procedure went well. I called back twice before they closed just to check in on her, each person that I spoke with reassured me that all was going great with Sasha and she was doing well. Thank You to ALL the Staff at Grady Animal Hospital for being so kind to us and taking of our Sasha 💕

I was so disheartened Tuesday when I had to bring my dog back for the 3rd time in 3 weeks for the same issue. My sadness turned to anger as I stood for 15 minutes waiting at the desk while the insensitive elderly woman behind the desk proceeded to ask a man sitting on the bench questions about what he wanted to do with his animals remains etc…… I stood there in shock, how callous and insensitive this woman was, speaking as if it was just the two of them in the room, but it wasn’t. There were 3 others waiting to be seen equally as shocked. As I stood patiently waiting, I glanced towards my right to see the beautiful plaque that says “if these candles are lit…etc.” I do admit my anger subsided once I heard Dr. Mark would be seeing my dog. Finally, we will have answers……but, not the case. He assumed tests were done on previous visits which they weren’t & didn’t even offer an apology for the poor care my dog received…… And Mark’s demeanor……as if he was being bothered. Over $500 later my dog is still sick and getting worse. Shame on you Dr. Mark. Get rid of that insensitive woman at the desk and stop taking on new patients……. Because the other vets that you have on staff didn’t do right by my dog and neither did you.

I don’t know where the compassion was at the front desk last Saturday morning at this facility but it was astonishing to see both women completely devoid of it. Our beloved Papa, a long term patient of Grady, had sustained a medical episode early that morning which we later learned at the emergency clinic in Bohemia was congenital heart failure. They proceeded to quote outrageous fees which didn’t promise any guaranteed positive outcomes so we elected to have Papa receive oxygen and a shot of fluid reducing medication for us to bring him home so we could have him seen at Grady. When he was brought out he seemed to be struggling worse than he was brought in; panting and in need of oxygen. At home he was clearly unable to get in a comfortable position, seemed to be struggling to get enough oxygen and had tears in his eyes (the latter of which will haunt me forever). We were at Grady the moment they opened and phoned from the parking lot to explain our situation. Whoever answered the phone was basically robotic and seemed all too eager to conclude the call as soon as possible. This despite the fact that we held the phone to the dog’s mouth. All she spewed was rhetoric about pets being seen by appointment. No emotion on her voice. We proceeded to walk into the facility to make our point known by showing how distressed Papa was. Both attendants don’t flinch and one said he needed to be taken to an emergency clinic. We attempted to explain what had occurred when we had brought him to Bohemia. They explained a Dr wouldn’t be at the facility until an hour and they didn’t have oxygen on the premises. What happened to outside the box thinking? Couldn’t a Dr have been called to explain the situation for a possible alternative treatment? Was there really no oxygen on the premises? We’ve been taking multiple animals to Grady’s for many years now if you check the charts going back to our previous dog, Luigi. I am very very disappointed in the front desk’s lack of empathy. Even if treatment could not have been provided what about a humane approach given the optics of the dog’s suffering? I know Anthony would have been very compassionate had he been behind the counter. Needless to say, Papa was brought back to Bohemia where, due to financial limitations, we had to make the unbearable decision to put him down. I think a phone call is warranted to Sandra, my partner, to at least apologize for the demeanor of the staff we encountered last Sat morning. You certainly can and should do better with staff given the field they chose to work in.

Grady Animal Hospital gives my pets exceptional care. This week I had to rush my dog there for emergency foreign body removal from his intestines, he decided to swallow a plush toy. The price is unbeatable, the level of care is top notch. I appreciate all of the staff here. Bring your pets here!
